1st Generation 

Our Mission

The mission of the ‘1stG’ organization at UNCG is to generate pride in our first-generation status by fostering service to our community and providing a support network among first-generation college students.

As first-generation college students, we continue to develop as life-long learners by recognizing how far we have come and how far we intend to go.

​Membership

The students of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro can become members of this organization simply by attending meetings. All student members shall become eligible to vote if they meet 3 of the 4 requirements: mentoring, GPA,  meeting attendance, or community service/program hours. If a student misses four or more meetings in any given academic year they will be ineligible to vote. One hundred  percent (100%) of the total membership must be composed of currently enrolled UNCG students.
